Step directly into the soundscapes I’ve created. This portfolio is where my passion for Sci-Fi and Horror audio comes to life. Explore examples of my sound design and composition work – from unsettling atmospheres to explosive sonic moments.
Each piece demonstrates my commitment to using sound to tell compelling stories and craft unforgettable experiences. Turn up your speakers and prepare to listen.
In this piece, I’ve taken a pivotal scene from Denis Villeneuve’s masterful Sci-Fi film Arrival (2016) – the moments spent in the communication chamber (or ‘shell’) interacting with the heptapods – and completely re-designed the audio. My goal was to delve deeper into the atmosphere of mystery, the alien presence, and the delicate, groundbreaking process of attempting communication with something utterly unknown. Listen closely to how the re-worked environmental sounds of the shell and the unique sonic textures associated with the heptapods and their language contribute to the scene’s tension, wonder, and otherworldliness.
Moving from the depths of space and fear to the serene beauty of the ocean. For this piece, I took a segment of the intro animation from the breathtaking underwater exploration game, ABZÛ, and created entirely new audio for it. My goal was to capture the unique sense of calm, wonder, and gentle awakening that defines the game’s initial moments. Listen to how the re-designed soundscape and musical elements combine to build an immersive underwater atmosphere and draw you into this beautiful world.
Stepping back into the realm of horror, this piece focuses on a tense scene from The Grudge 2 (2006). It features Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character waking up in a hospital bed and the urgent, terrifying realization that she needs to escape. I designed the sound for this sequence to emphasize her vulnerability and isolation, transforming the seemingly sterile hospital environment into a place of dread and paranoia. Listen closely to how the subtle environmental sounds and tension-building cues contribute to her disorientation and the palpable need to get out.
